Laguna Canyon Foundation presents "What's so special about spiders?" Talk at the Susi Q Center

Laguna Beach, CA, Oct 9, 2026 What’s so special about spiders? Come find out with Dr. Lenny Vincent, Spider and Insect Biologist, to learn about these magnificent arachnids. Lenny’s background includes work as a Researcher, University Professor, and current member of the Laguna Greenbelt Board of Directors. This talk is part of a series presented by Laguna Canyon Foundation at the Laguna Beach Community and Susi Q Senior Center to bring ecological and other outdoorsy topics to the Laguna Beach Community. This FREE talk will be hosted at the Susi Q Center, 380 Third Street, Laguna Beach on Monday, October 19, 2026 from 2 to 3 p.m. All ages are welcome. Registration is required.

Lenny will weave together photographs and video clips to spin a tapestry of spider: predation and defense, courtship, reproduction, birth, web construction, and a bit of entangled folklore.

“We’re delighted to collaborate with the Susi Q to offer a series of programs about the amazing wilderness that surrounds us,” Scott Thomas, Laguna Canyon Foundation Executive Director.

Laguna Canyon Foundation will also share information about the various programs they offer as well as volunteer opportunities. Register here.
