    About Us

Established in 2005, Mozambique Restaurant was inspired by owner Ivan Spiers’ childhood trips to Africa’s southeast coast. Bringing the bold flavors and vibrant spirit of Mozambique to Laguna Beach, the restaurant blends South African–influenced dishes—like Peri-Peri prawns, wood-fired steaks, and flavorful curries—with warm coastal hospitality.

Its three-story space features ocean-view rooftop dining, the speak-easy-style Durban Room, the newly renovated Ivan’z House music venue (formerly the Shebeen Bar), and a lush garden patio.

Over the years, Mozambique has become a celebrated live music destination, hosting artists such as Kenny Loggins, Macy Gray, George Clinton, Lisa Fisher, Bernard Fowler, Waddy Wachtel, and Blondie Chaplin. Today, it remains a beloved spot for unforgettable food, views, and world-class entertainment.
