    About Us

We specialize in the production and sales of original art work and books. Pacific Bookworks was established in 2015 as a small home-based publisher that produces quality editions of the work of indie-authors. We only work with authors who are willing to be the guiding force in the publication of their own book. We publish adult fiction, memoirs, and children’s chapter books and middle-grade novels. In 2017 we joined forces with Ron Whitacre, sculptor and owner of Whitacre Studio, to facilitate the production and sales of his one-of-a-kind, welded steel sculpture.

Ron Whitacre (1940 - 2022) was a working artist for over 50 years. He was known for his fine art residential pieces, his outdoor works, and his ability to create commissioned sculpture based on a client's vision. Besides sculpture to grace homes, Ron created commissioned works for synagogues, churches, hospitals, banks, parks, and other public settings. One of his best-known pieces, a fourteen-foot sculpture titled “Harmony,” has arched over the entrance to the Laguna Beach Art A-Fair Festival since 1998.

Kathryn Lang-Slattery is an artist, writer and publisher. As an artist, she works mainly in pen and ink or in pastel. She has written and published five books, a novel, a memoir, and a three book children's easy-reader series. She is happy to arrange presentations about her books and writing process for community groups, book clubs, schools, museums, and libraries. Her talks about the Ritchie Boys of World War II are especially popular. Kathryn is currently working on her sixth book.
