• Sally's Fund Receives $50,000 Breakaway Fund Grant from the Samueli Foundation

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif., August 26, 2026 — Sally's Fund, Inc. has been selected to receive a $50,000 Breakaway Fund grant from the Samueli Foundation. The nonprofit will use the grant to strengthen its organizational infrastructure and support long-term sustainability as it continues to provide transportation and related services to Laguna Beach seniors.

“This grant comes at a pivotal moment for Sally's Fund. Unrestricted funding like this allows us to invest where it is most needed –– strengthening the systems, staff, and expertise that keep our services running reliably. Most importantly, it helps ensure that we can continue providing dependable, compassionate transportation to the seniors and disabled adults who rely on Sally’s Fund,” said Rachael Berger, Executive Director of Sally's Fund.

The grant is part of $15 million the Samueli Foundation awarded to 89 Orange County-serving nonprofit organizations through its Breakaway Fund and Build OC Fund initiatives. Sally's Fund is one of two Laguna Beach nonprofits to receive a Samueli Foundation grant in this round, alongside Glennwood Housing Foundation, Inc. The two organizations already share a close working relationship: residents of Glennwood House, Glennwood's affordable senior housing community, regularly rely on Sally's Fund for transportation.
