Chelas Mexican Kitchen Celebrates Laguna Beach Grand Opening with Ribbon Cutting Ceremony
Laguna Beach, CA – Chelas Mexican Kitchen, the family-owned, vibrant casual destination known for fresh, bold, and authentic Mexican food, is celebrating the grand opening of its Laguna Beach location with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 5:30 PM. Hosted in partnership with the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce, the celebration will take place at 412 N. Coast Hwy—just steps from the sand.
This isn’t just another taco spot—it’s a family-owned gem with heart, heritage, and style. Founded by entrepreneur Karla Vasquez, Chelas Mexican Kitchen brings more than just unforgettable flavor. With a background in design, Karla personally envisioned and styled the Laguna Beach location, blending vibrant colors, natural textures, and warm coastal elements to reflect both the soul of Chelas and the laid-back elegance of the neighborhood. From the tile selections to the flow of the indoor-outdoor space, every detail reflects her eye for hospitality and love of art.
The new space features an upstairs outdoor deck perfect for savoring tacos with a coastal view—whether you're catching sun over lunch or unwinding with dinner at sunset.
